Larkfleet Homes, part of the Larkfleet Group, has officially started work on its new housing development located in the heart of Bourne.
Abbeyfields, located on the old Co-op site on Manning Road, will comprise two and three bedroom properties with prices starting at just £125,000.
Larkfleet Group managing director Karl Hick was on site to oversee events as the first pieces of machinery set to work.
Abbeyfields will comprise 108 properties including 33 affordable homes of which 13 properties will be offered through shared ownership and 20 through affordable rent.
Properties at Abbeyfields are perfect not only for first-time buyers but also for buyers who are looking to downsize and young families looking for a high quality new home.
Abbeyfields is situated in an existing residential area and is close to the town centre, Bourne’s secondary and primary schools and various sports facilities.
Some properties on the Abbeyfields development will be available through the government-backed FirstBuy scheme with which homebuyers have the chance to take up a five-year interest-free loan.
Larkfleet’s Ezy initiatives can offer homebuyers help with selling their own property or part exchange deals. Through Larkfleet’s Ezy-give scheme, family and friends of first-time buyers who to contribute twenty per cent of the purchase price of a new property can get a five per cent return for five years after the purchase while homebuyers enjoy a smaller mortgage and a lower interest rate.
Karl Hick, Larkfleet’s managing director, commented: “I am really pleased to see work begin on site. Our team has spent a lot of time and effort in the planning of this development and I can’t wait for the development to begin to take shape. Abbeyfields will offer high quality living in an excellent location.”
Selected plots will benefit from solar photovoltaic (PV) panels that produce electricity from daylight, generating useable power even on cloudy days. Homeowners can therefore enjoy reduced electricity bills as well as generating additional revenue from the government’s Feed in Tariff.
