Larkfleet Homes (www.larkfleethomes.co.uk), part of the Larkfleet Group (www.larkfleetgroup.co.uk), has started work on a ‘mixed tenure’ affordable housing scheme in Morton, Lincolnshire.
Located on Bourne Road in Morton, the development will comprise 20 affordable properties that will be available through housing association Longhurst and Havelok Homes. A range of house types will be available on the site, catering for a range of local housing needs.
There will be 12 two-bedroom houses, two two-bedroom bungalows and two four-bedroom houses that will be offered for affordable rent from Longhurst and Havelok Homes. Four two-bedroom properties will be available for shared ownership.
The properties will be perfect for young families or first-time buyers and will help to meet the need for affordable housing in the area, especially at a time when many people are struggling to get onto the housing ladder.
Karl Hick, Larkfleet Homes’ managing director, commented: “Due to reduced public investment in housing, housebuilders such as Larkfleet are unable to deliver affordable housing developments in the number that they have done in the past. I am therefore delighted that work is starting on these affordable properties in Morton.
“The development will enable local people to get onto the housing ladder at a time when this is incredibly difficult, especially in rural areas where many young people are priced out of the housing market. Larkfleet has worked with Longhurst and Havelok Homes several times in the past and I am delighted that the two companies are working in partnership to deliver this project.”
