Larkfleet Homes (www.larkfleethomes.co.uk), part of the Larkfleet Group (www.larkfleetgroup.co.uk), has sponsored a match ball for Bourne Cricket Club as part of the company’s commitment to supporting local communities.
Every year, the cricket club has to spend around £1,600 on new match balls which are required for each fixture. Larkfleet Homes and other local companies are helping the club reach this total by sponsoring individual match balls throughout the season.
Didie Kearns, a member of the Larkfleet sales team at the company’s new Abbeyfields development in Bourne, was invited to attend a recent first XI home match to present the sponsored match ball to Bourne’s captain, Pete Morgan.
Larkfleet managing director and keen cricket fan Karl Hick commented: “It is a pleasure to support Bourne Cricket Club through this sponsorship. Clubs such as this which are run by volunteers for the benefit of the community are very important. Larkfleet is proud to continue to support local communities in any way that it can.”
Larkfleet is a keen supporter of the Bourne community and enjoys a good relationship with Bourne Abbey Church of England Primary Academy, donating equipment and running competitions for pupils on a regular basis. Larkfleet has also donated funds to the Bourne Cricket Club in the past to support the development and success of the club.
David Bower, Bourne Cricket Club’s treasurer, added: “The continued support of local companies such as Larkfleet Homes makes a huge difference to the cricket club. We are very grateful to all at Larkfleet for the contribution.”
Larkfleet’s Abbeyfields development, located on the old Co-op site on Manning Road in Bourne, will comprise two and three bedroom properties with prices starting at just £125,000.
When complete, there will be 108 properties including 33 affordable homes of which 13 will be offered through shared ownership and 20 through affordable rent.
Some properties at Abbeyfields will be available through the government-backed FirstBuy scheme. With the help of FirstBuy, homebuyers have the chance to take up a five-year interest-free loan, meaning they could own a Larkfleet home sooner than they thought.
Selected plots will benefit from solar photovoltaic (PV) panels that produce electricity from daylight, generating useable power even on cloudy days. Homeowners can therefore enjoy reduced electricity bills as well as generating additional revenue from the government’s Feed in Tariff.
