New pension rules open investment opportunities at Buttercross Park, Oakham

New pension rules open investment opportunities at Buttercross Park, Oakham

Bourne-based housebuilder Larkfleet Homes is urging people to take advantage of new pension rules which came into effect in April to invest in buy-to-let property.

With new investors steadily coming into the buy-to-let market, the revised pension rules will bring a fresh flux of interest from those aged 55 or over. For the first time this year, they are able to invest their pension monies as they wish and it is thought that many will invest in property to guarantee they maintain an income whilst retaining a growing investment.

Larkfleet Homes believes its new Buttercross Park development in Oakham, Rutland, will prove particularly attractive to these investors.

Buying property looks far more profitable than traditional investments because, historically, housing has offered stable security with good returns. In addition to capital growth, buy-to-let landlords also get rent on the property which usually represents a higher return on investment than a bank or building society deposit.

Larkfleet Homes sales director Ben Burge said: “The latest reports and figures confirm that buy-to-let property is an excellent consideration for any potential ‘silver landlords’.”

Buttercross Park offers a range of exclusive properties, priced to suit investors as well as homebuyers, with a mix of two, three and four-bedroom town houses with either individual garages or parking spaces.

The town itself offers all the advantages of a rural lifestyle and boasts a wide range of shops and restaurants as well as having regular street and farmers’ markets. For those wishing to commute to their workplace, Oakham is within easy reach, by rail and road, of Peterborough, Cambridge, Birmingham, Leicester, London and Stansted Airport.

Rutland has recently been named as the best rural place to live in the UK by the 2015 annual Halifax Rural Area Quality of Life survey and the ONS survey on national wellbeing.
